Cerritos
Located in the southeastern region of Los Angeles County, Cerritos is one of several cities included in the term “Gateway Cities.” Cerritos has been incorporated since April of 1956, and has grown to a population of approximately 60,000 residents.
Shopping fanatics will be happy to know that Cerritos offers two shopping districts: Los Cerritos Shopping Center and Cerritos Industrial Park. According to the California State Board of Equalization , Cerritos residents spend the second highest amount in retail in the state, with Beverly Hills being the leading spender.
The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts provides residents with live performances, including music, comedy, dance, and drama. The Center covers 154,000 square feet and offers movable seats, floors, ceilings, and stages. This Cerritos Center is certainly a spectacle to see.
Most Cerritos residents are served by the ABC Unified School District. However, some students on the west side of the city are served by the Bellflower Unified School District. Cerritos College is also located in the center of Cerritos.
Cerritos on Wheels, or COW, is a city-owned bus service that stops throughout town. Cerritos is also within minutes of major interstates, including Interstates 605, 91, and the 5.
