Glendale
Nestled in the eastern foothills of the San Fernando Valley lies a beautiful town called Glendale. Bordered to the southwest by Atwater Village, Burbank to the west, Pasadena to the east, Eagle Rock to the southeast, and La CaĆada Flintridge to the north.
The estimated population for Glendale is 207,007, making it the third largest city in Los Angeles County. The Glendale Unified School District serves the city of Glendale. The district includes four middle schools, five high schools, 20 elementary schools, and two separate facilities for homeschoolers.
Approximately 30,000 students make up the Glendale Unified School District. Several community organizations within the city of Glendale have been developed over the years, which include a variety of nonprofit organizations that help better the community. Organizations include The Salvation Army Glendale, The Kiwanis Club of Glendale, PATH Achive Glendale, and Glendale Healthy Kids.
All of the organizations have helped restore the community and have all assisted in the quality of life within the city. Approximately 54% of the city's population consisted of foreign born residents at the 2000 census, providing Glendale with a distinct ethnic presence. At that same census, it was estimated that Glendale had 71,805 households and 49,617 families within its limits.
