Lynwood
Located right in between downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach, Lynwood is a beautiful city that currently has a population of approximately 73,500 residents. The city is made up of approximately 5 square miles, and is conveniently located between two major freeways, Interstate 710 and Interstate 105, which makes it easy for Lynwood residents to access both the Los Angeles International Airport as well as the Long Beach Airport.
The city of Lynwood has been incorporated since 1921, and it continues to grow on a daily basis. Lynwood offers a variety of retail centers, including Atlantic Crossing that includes a Walgreens, Starbucks, and a Panda Express. Plaza Mexico, a 36-acre project located in downtown Lynwood, is one of the city's largest redevelopment projects and displays some beautiful architecture very reminiscent of old town Mexico.
The city is committed to cleaning up and reviving downtown Lynwood. The main goals of the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency are to recreate the downtown area and encourage pedestrian activity. The goal is to offer traditional retail stores, and other boutique shops to attract business.
Lynwood residents are served by the Lynwood Unified School District, which is “Creating a Brighter Future For Your Kids” day in and day out. The district is composed of 19 schools, serving students in grades K-12.
