Pomona

Located in the western section of the Pomona Valley, Pomona is one of the easternmost cities in Los Angeles County.  A 2005 study revealed that Pomona had a population of approximately 161,000 residents.  Known for its rich and fertile soil, the city has been referred to as an “urban garden” because of its ability to produce some of the best crops in Southern California.

The city of Pomona was incorporated in January of 1888, and is currently the fifth-largest city in Los Angeles County.  The city prides itself on its bountiful economy and has shown a genuine commitment to continue developing within its city limits.  The city boasts a solid workforce and is considered one of the most “business friendly” cities in Southern California.

Transportation within Pomona city limits is heavily assisted by the city's commitment to providing quality public transportation to residents.  The city is served by Metrolink rail, Metro buses, Foothill Transit buses, and Amtrak Sunset trains.  Pomona is also conveniently located next to several major freeways, which provides residents with easy commutes to nearby cities and attractions.

Pomona is served by the Pomona Unified School District, which offers a nice blend of both public and private schools.  The city is also home to California State Polytechnic University, a well-known institution that focuses on ever-growing industries such as engineering, agriculture, and business programs.
