Rolling Hills
This small city in Los Angeles County had a population of 1,871 at the 2000 census, and don't expect it to grow any larger in the near future. Rated as the 21st richest place in the United States, this small town consists of a single gated community and is located atop the hills of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Incorporated in 1957, Rolling Hills has maintained its ranch style atmosphere with no traffic lights and several areas of open space between houses. The city has also maintained wide walking paths on the sides of its streets.
Rolling Hills borders Rolling Hills Estates to its north and Rancho Palos Verdes on all other sides, which is a convenient location for Rolling Hills' residents considering they are required to work, shop, and attend school in other towns because Rolling Hills does not offer those services.
Rolling Hills is served by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, which is one of the most prestigious in the nation. It has received several national awards for its brilliant teachers and distinguished programs.
