Santa Clarita
Currently the fourth largest city in Los Angeles County, Santa Clarita has an estimated 175,314 residents residing within its city limits. Located approximately 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, Santa Clarita currently occupies most of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Residents find it comforting to know that the FBI rates Santa Clarita the sixth safest city to live in the United States, and one of the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine. Incorporated in 1987, Santa Clarita has experienced rapid growth due in part to its prime location, mild climate, and growing economy.
Just outside of the city sits the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park, which is one of the largest attractions in all of Southern California. The highly acclaimed California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) is also located in nearby Valencia.
Santa Clarita resides along Interstate 5, as well as California State Highway 14, which provide easy access for commuters to make their way to downtown Los Angeles and several other nearby attractions and services. The City of Santa Clarita Transit is a bus service that provides routes to Los Angeles, Van Nuys, Warner Center, and Century City. Santa Clarita is also serviced by Metrolink, which is a commuter passenger service, which travels to nearby cities as well.
