Walnut


Located in the southeast section of Los Angeles County, Walnut is approximately twenty miles to the east of downtown Los Angeles.  The city is composed of approximately 9 square miles and is situated between the San Jose Hills mountain range and Puente Hills, which resides to the south. 

The city of Walnut boasts one of the lowest crime rates in Southern California, and offers a pleasant atmosphere to its residents.  Distinguished by rolling hills and valleys, the city of Walnut offers ninety acres of parkland to its local residents.  Walnut is home to an award winning Community Services Department, which oversees the maintenance and planning of the city's eleven parks, recreational facilities, and the parks' hiking trail systems, as well as recreational sports leagues and leisure classes.

Walnut is conveniently located near several major freeways, such as Interstates 57, 10, and the 60, which offers easy access to nearby cities and attractions for commuters.  Walnut also has the luxury of being served by the Foothill Transit bus system, which helps cut down on traffic while preserving the air quality within Walnut city limits. 

The city of Walnut is served by the Walnut Valley Unified School District, which offers award winning schools and a revamped community college in Mt. San Antonio Community College.  With a population of just over 30,000 residents, Walnut is a growing city with a wide variety of things to do for its residents and visitors.
