Westlake Village

Located in Los Angeles County, the planned community of Westlake Village, known for its prosperity and private living quarters, was built around a man-made lake near the Los Angeles-Ventura county line.  The 2000 census revealed that the population of Westlake Village was 8,368. 

Westlake Village is known as a master-planned suburban town that is made up of condos and large, suburban homes.  The vast majority of these homes are built around the lake and offer picturesque views of the lake and other surrounding houses.  Westlake Village is a community that offers safe neighborhoods and streets, as well as equestrian trails and several acres of parkland.  In fact, much of the city's property consists of hiking and horse trails.  The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area borders the city and offers several hiking trails, picnic tables, and breathtaking views.

Westlake Village is home to several commercial businesses such as Dole, J.D. Power and Associates, and K-Swiss, all of which boost the city's economy and provide jobs to many residents. The city's transportation system is also simplified due to its location and close proximity to several major freeways.  The Ventura Freeway and the 101 are just a couple of freeways that help the locals commute to nearby cities and attractions.
