Your home ready to sell by spring

It’s a definite fact that our real estate market is really hurting and even though it might take a while to stabilize again. There are many first time buyers trying to cash in on the $8,000 dollar first time buyer tax credit as well as the repeat home buyer credit for $6,500 before April 30th.
This means that lots potential buyers will be looking for a home before the deadline therefore you could sell your home this spring if you play your cards right.

If you are considering putting your home up for sale and cannot afford to hire someone to remodel it or update it. There are quite a few things that can be improved on a small budget and get the most out of your home before spring time.

There are a few small do-it-yourself projects like tiling your bathroom or kitchen and could make a tremendous difference.

1.- Consider fixing or updating your lighting to perhaps a Mid century modern lighting, get rid of the old fixtures and handles and replace them for some new modern ones.

2.- Sand and re-varnish your kitchen cabinets.

3.- Give your living room a simple update with a couple brushes and paint. Make sure to get help from your local hardware store and chose soft radiant colors.

4.- Replacing the old and worn out caulking in your bathrooms and kitchen mainly in your sinks and bathroom areas would make these areas look a bit refreshed. Make a personal note of the following; “Black caulking is not very appealing”

5.- A new sink always gives a clean appearance, there are some very affordable sinks that are quite easy to hook up. But leave the plumbing connections to a handyman or a plumber if your don’t have the right tools to do it yourself.

6.- Update your shower head they are very easy to install and some are even under $20 dollars. Get rid of the old one and enjoy the new one in about 10 minutes.

These easy tips really make a difference in your home’s appearance, and you wont have to spend thousands of dollars paying contractors. Most of these things can be done on your own and at your own pace.
