Cypress

Formerly named “Waterville” because of its abundance of artesian wells in the area, Cypress is now home to approximately 49,000 residents.  This small community, bordering Los Angeles County and Orange County, is located in a convenient location in Northern Orange County. Cypress Nature Park is a lush, overgrown, grassy and wooded area that offers five nature trails and is ideal for bird watching and nature walks.  You won't find playgrounds and tennis courts within park borders, which is why it's appealing to most residents.

Los Alamitos Race Course is open year round for both live and simulcast off-track betting.  This is one of the rare race courses in the country that offer two different kinds of horse racing: Harness and Quarter horse.  Harness racing is held from January until the end of April, Quarter horse racing is held from May until the end of July.  Its an affordable way for the family to get up close and personal to some of the most beautiful animals you'll ever see.

Located 20 minutes a way, shoppers can visit the Westminster Mall. There are many places to grab a bite or a drink from Dalton's Restaurant to Breaker's Cocktails. Different styles of food are available including American, Chinese, Jamaican and Italian.

You also have the option of eating outside by having a picnic at the Arnold/Cypress Park. It has fun activities for couples and families with a roller hockey rink, playground, basketball hoops and softball field. Visitors can stay in hotels that are scattered throughout the city, ranging in prices of $25 to $150 a night at the Homestead Studio Suites, Hampton Inn and Woodfin Suites Hotel.

Amtrak and airports are available to residents and visitors. You can also take a taxi around town with the City of Cypress Taxi Voucher Program. People relocating to Cypress can find real estate costing from $275,000 to $1.5 million. Eleven schools are spread throughout the city for elementary, middle and high school children with the choice of private or public education. Cypress is close to the beach, so no matter which home you purchase will give you the convenience to catch some rays and enjoy the sunny beaches.
