Fullerton

Although it's not Hollywood, the founding of Fullerton back in 1887 certainly has a Hollywood setting to it.  George and Edward Amerige bought 430 acres of land in the area and somehow convinced George Fullerton, the president of Pacific Land and Improvement Company, to alter his railroad route to include their town.  This insightful investment helped turn Fullerton into one of Orange County's largest cities.

Fast forward to 2007 and Fullerton is now home to over 136,000 people, with the average resident being around 32 years of age.  Full of heritage, you can find entertainment just about anywhere. If you head downtown, you will find over 70 historic buildings, artistic walkways, and shops.  Downtown is also the home for the Museum Center, the Downtown Plaza and Plummer Auditorium. Nature lovers will enjoy the Fullerton Arboretum, which is a 26 acre botanical garden. There are plants of all types that derive from different nations around the world. Many come to learn about different plant life and histories. Arts, history and science are presented at the Fullerton Museum, providing educational programs and exhibits.

The Fullerton Farmers Market offers residents the liberty to purchase fresh produce.  Other shoppers can go to the Metro Center Fullerton where there is a Wal-Mart and other contemporary stores. For those who want to get away from the outside world, Ted Craig Regional Park is the place to be.  Near the 57 freeway, it is known for its quiet atmosphere. The park also has rolling green hills, water and beautiful trees. Visitors to the park have access to picnic areas, fishing ponds, tables and barbecues.  Metrolink, OCTA and Amtrak trains provide quick access to destinations and can get you to Los Angeles within 30 minutes.

Real estate in Fullerton is very affordable for the average family with prices starting at $124,000 and reaching as high as $4 million. The expensive homes are more rare than the lower priced homes, so it would be no problem to find a house to fit your budget. For those with children, you have 26 schools that are available, starting with Kindergarten and ending with 12th grade. With the average temperature being 62 degrees, it's no wonder Fullerton has had no problem attracting residents and visitors.
