Garden Grove

Once upon a time, Garden Grove was a sea of citrus groves, but has since converted into wide swaths of tract housing.  The demand for housing led to the sacrifice of architectural imagination. Nonetheless, Garden Grove, with a population of over 170,000, is truly a residential and cultural mecca.

Atlantis Play Center is a four acre park that is home to sea serpents, whales, and other aquatic creatures that have been transformed into playground equipment.  There is plenty of shade to cover this small park, and a snack bar is open on weekends.

There are several attractions and special events held in Garden Grove.  Each Spring, an Easter pageant celebrates the resurrection of Christ, and is a wonderful production year in and year out.  The Glory of Christmas is a huge attraction for numerous Southern Californians. Much like the Glory of Easter, this production features live animals, and a beautiful cathedral.  The Strawberry Festival is a four day festival that is held each Memorial Day weekend.  Its been around for 30 years, and features some of the world's largest strawberry shortcakes, as well as carnival games, arts and crafts, and other booths.  The Strawberry Festival raises money for local charities.   

The Stanley Ranch Museum is an old house that was built in 1891.  Now, as a museum, it features displays on the early life in Garden Grove. The grounds also feature Walt Disney's original studio, as well as an old barber and shoe shop.  The actual house is a two-story gingerbread structure surrounded by a white picket fence.

Living in Garden Grove is very affordable for the average family with prices in real estate starting around $38,000 and continuing to about $3 million. There 53 schools in the area, providing plenty of opportunity to allow your children the education you want, whether it be private or public. The student-teacher ratio is 23:1, allowing your children to get the attention they deserve while giving them the chance to interact with many children.
