West Garden Grove
Per the name of the city, West Garden Grove encompasses the western portion of Garden Grove. Both communities are located in Orange County, California. West Garden Grove is bordered by Cypress to the north, Los Alamitos and Seal Beach to the south, and to the south of Westminster. The 2000 census revealed that the population in West Garden Grove was 15,864.
West Garden Grove provides residents with low crime rates and a considerably lower population density than its neighboring cities, in particular Garden Grove. Among the population of 15,864, there were 5,589 households and 5,107 households residing in West Garden Grove. West Garden Grove's population density was approximately 82% white, 1% African American, and 9.2% Asian and/or Pacific Islander.
Residents of West Garden Grove are provided with three community/public parks: Eastgate Park, Westgrove Park, and Edgar Park. The parks are made up of atheletic fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and recreational facilities.
West Garden Grove is served by the Garden Grove Unified School District. The District offers eight schools (six elementary, one intermediate, and one high school) within West Garden Grove city limits.
