Open House Azusa

Ever heard the phrase “everything from A to Z in the USA” and wondered where it came from? The answer is Azusa, California! This city in Los Angeles County traces back to the eighteenth century, when settlers first began referring to the San Gabriel Valley and River as “The Azusa.” Located in the northeastern section of Los Angeles County, Azusa has an estimated population of 45,000. There are approximately 12,549 households and 9,298 families who call Azusa home.

The city of Azusa is served by the Azusa Unified School District, a very well respected and known district in Los Angeles County. All in all, the district is composed of 20 schools, ranging from kindergarten to adult and continuation schools. Azusa Pacific University, a private Christian university, is located within Azusa city limits.  The Foothill Freeway (1-210) runs parallel to Azusa between the San Gabriel River Freeway (1-605) and the Orange Freeway (California State Route 57).

Each summer, Azusa holds free “Concerts in the (Memorial) Park.” Azusans are encouraged to attend the concert and mingle with neighbors in the meantime. With several parks, trails, and canyons to choose from, Azusa is an affordable, peaceful community that is growing by the day.
