Open House El Segundo

Located in the western part of Los Angeles County, El Segundo sits right on the beautiful Santa Monica Bay. Recently, El Segundo has taken several steps to improve the well being of its residents, most notably the transition from a blue collar “company town”  towards a “corporate town,”  which allows bigger tax breaks for its citizens.  The Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation named El Segundo “the most business friendly city in Los Angeles County.”

This corporate movement has opened up many jobs for residents.  Several large companies have purchased property in El Segundo, and most of them are headquartered there or operate factories within El Segundo limits.  Some of the most well known companies include Boeing, Chevron, Direct TV, and Mattel.  El Segundo is also home to the Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC).  

El Segundo is home to approximately 18,000 residents.  Currently, there are just over 7,000 households and 3,911 families that call El Segundo home.  El Segundo residents are served by its own El Segundo Unified School District, which is listed as one of California’s top 29 districts by Standards and Poor’s.

Conveniently located just south of the Los Angeles Airport, El Segundo is in a prime spot when it comes to transportation.  It's quickly accessible to the 105, 405, and Interstate 10, as well as the Pacific Coast Highway.  It’s pretty clear that El Segundo offers its citizens a wonderful combination of amenities, prime location, business incentives, and excellent schools, which is why this city has grown into a wonderful place to call home.
