Open House Irwindale


Nestled in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley, Irwindale is a small community located in Los Angeles County.  Located just 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, Irwindale is home to over 700 businesses, including several satellite offices and just as many headquarter offices.

Irwindale is known as “Jardin de Roca,” or “Garden of Rocks” in Spanish because of the high quality rock and gravel found within its city limits.  A fun fact regarding Irwindale is that almost every major highway in the state of California and a plethora of highways that reside west of the Mississippi use Irwindale rock in their foundation. 

The city employs its very own Parks and Recreation Department, which oversees several of the local parks, leagues, and programs, as well as several events throughout the course of the year.  They are in charge of youth and adult programs, trips, adult and youth sports leagues, and teen club activities.

The city of Irwindale is listed as being made up of 9.5 square miles.  The average household income is $45,000 and the average age is 28.5.  The city’s population is 1,446.  Perhaps the most well known part of Irwindale is the Irwindale Speedway, which is home to several regional and national NASCAR races.
