Open House La Verne

La Verne is a full service city in eastern Los Angeles County. The city was founded in the early 1800s (1806 to be exact) and was incorporated in 1906. The city is situated approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, and currently has a population of just over 33,000 residents.
Even though La Verne is considered a municipal city located near Los Angeles, it still prides itself on being a close knit, small town community. The city is composed of eight mobile-home parks, three large retirement communities, and several other surrounding neighborhoods.
The city of La Verne offers easy access transportation from all over the city. Major freeways conveniently run throughout the city, including the Foothill Freeway (I-210), the San Bernardino (I-10), and the 57 Freeway. La Verne residents are also invited to travel via Metrolink, a rail service that allows commuters to travel to downtown LA Monday through Saturday. Amtrak also offers a rail service in nearby Pomona.
La Verne is served by the Bonita Unified School District, which offers six public schools, as well as three parochial schools. The University of La Verne is also located within La Verne city limits. The city of La Verne is also dedicated to preserving an abundance of land for city parks. There is a whopping 110 acres of developed park land, including the “Sports Park Facility,” which is available for public use and offers a skate park and aquatics center.
