Open House Lawndale

Incorporated in December of 1959, Lawndale is a city located in the western part of Los Angeles County. The estimated population for Lawndale is currently approximately 31,733. Bordered by Redondo Beach on the West and Southwest, Hawthorne just to the north, Torrance to the Southeast, and El Camino directly to the East.
The city of Lawndale incorporates its own parks and recreation department, which organizes several youth and adult leagues, as well as keeping the city parks cleaned and updated. The city has a total of three city parks: Jane Addams Park, William Green Park, and Rogers/Anderson Park. Jane Addams Park is located right in the center of Lawndale and features little league football and baseball fields, as well a free wading pool during the summer.
Historically speaking, Lawndale has been composed of singe family homes, but between the 1970s and 1990, many of those single family homes were replaced by duplexes and apartment buildings, which has left very little room for any more residential development.
Lawndale offers a variety of schools for youngsters to choose from. Lawndale has its own elementary district (Lawndale Elementary School District) but the majority of schools are located within nearby Centinela Valley Union High School District.
