Open House Lomita

Lomita is a city located in the southwestern region of Los Angeles County with an estimated population of just over 21,000 residents. The Spanish definition for the city is “little knoll,” and one trip to the beautiful city of Lomita will explain just why it is named the “little knoll.”
What used to be known primarily as a farming village made up of mostly retired sea captains, Lomita has developed into a beautiful community that offers a wide array of activities for its residents. Incorporated in 1964, the city is known for offering a family atmosphere and family is Lomita’s proud trademark.
The community offers several activities for its residents to partake in throughout the year, including Western Family Fun Night, Lomita Founder’s Day, and several other family-friendly festivals and fairs throughout the course of the year. The Lomita Parks and Recreation Department is funded by the city and organizes several leagues and events for Lomita residents all year round.
Children in grades K-12 are served by schools within the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are also several nearby colleges for young adults to choose from, including the University of Southern California, UCLA, Loyola Maramount, and several other specialty schools.
