Located 112 miles east of Los Angeles, Desert Hot Springs is a true oasis in the desert. It is nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains and Joshua Tree National Park, and built on one of the world's finest natural hot water mineral aquifers. Naturally occurring mineral waters bubble to the surface making this a premier resort community. There are about 20,000 residents in the area with an average age of 31.6 years. The median home price as of October 29, 2007 was $250,000 with a lower than national average cost of living. The area is experiencing a boom in new construction in both retail and residential sectors.

The summer months are warm, but comfortable due to the low humidity and elevation above the rest of the valley. The beautiful weather makes possible a wide range of other activities available to the Desert Hot Springs resident and visitor.  The area is filled with adventure as hiking, golfing, tennis, shuffleboarding, sunning, shopping, sightseeing, bicycle riding, ballooning and horseback riding are all within easy reach of the Desert Hot Springs community.
