Moreno Valley
In an area not long ago comprised of rural communities, the city of Moreno Valley, incorporated in 1984, is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. It is 50 square miles in Western Riverside County with a population of 174,565 and still growing. The area is one of the most dynamic economic market potentials in California today. The area has seen massive construction in recent years, attracting Best Buy, Lowe's, Starbucks, Outback Steakhouse, and other premiere establishments.
The city's amenities include more than 32 parks and/or joint-use facilities with 358.34 developed acres, and 6,000 acres of open space at Lake Perris; recreational, medical, and educational facilities; quality housing at affordable prices, open spaces, abundant retail centers, industrial developments, social and cultural activities, and year round warm temperatures.
Moreno Valley has two public school districts: Moreno Valley Unified which has 23 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 comprehensive high schools, 1 charter school, 1 adult school, 1 continuation school, 1 community day school, 1 pre-school and 1 academic center; and Val Verde Unified, having 1 pre-school, 12 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 3 high schools, 1 continuation school, with a total of 17,624 students enrolled. Moreno Valley is also home to Riverside Community College.
