Murrieta

Located in southwestern Riverside County, Murrieta is a beautiful community blessed with many assets. It has a population of around 98,000 in 24.8 square miles and is one of the fastest growing cities in California. The rolling hills and plentiful native trees make this mostly residential community an ideal place to live.

The town is well known for its naturally occurring hot springs, which the town's founder, Juan Murrieta, is rumored to have used to relax and wash his sheep. Realizing that they had a treasure, the town began to capitalize on the unique springs and developed the Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. Today it continues to draw residents and visitors. Among the city's many special features are the over 50 parks to enjoy.

The City of Murrieta is served by the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. The district contains eleven elementary (K-5) schools, three middle (6-8) schools, two comprehensive high (9-12) schools- Vista Murrieta High School and Murrieta Valley High School, one continuation school, and one independent study school. Because of the explosive growth in the area, one elementary school, another middle school, and another high school are in the making. The Murrieta Valley School District boasts some of the top schools in the county of Riverside.
