Carlsbad
Located in the northern skirts of San Diego County, Carlsbad had an estimated population of approximately 107,217 in 2007. Carlsbad offers several world-class resorts, beautiful beaches, mild temperatures, and several other attractions for residents and visitors.
The city offers some of California's very best beach scenes. Residents are able to enjoy its surfing waters, deep sea fishing excursions, and swimming and strolling are easily accessible all throughout the city's seven-mile stretch of beaches. Perhaps the most intriguing point of interest within this stretch is The Carlsbad Seawall. The Seawall is a common place to stroll or run around the beach.
Aside from surfing, deep-sea fishing, volleyball, and tennis, Carlsbad's most popular sport amongst its residents might well be golf. Known as the “golf capital of the world,” Carlsbad offers over 30 golf industry businesses (courses and shops) and two world-renowned resorts. The Acura Classic, an annual professional tennis tournament, is held in Carlsbad every August and offers a wonderful opportunity to see the world's best women tennis players.
Because of its location, fantastic school systems, beloved attractions, and mild climate, property values in Carlsbad have increased tremendously over the years. Forbes Magazine ranked Carlsbad as one of the “Most Expensive Zip Codes” in the United States recently. Several neighborhoods within Carlsbad don't offer houses that cost less than $1 million.
