San Marcos

If there is a perfect town anywhere, San Marcos would certainly qualify. It has a population of nearly 55,000 in 23.9 square miles, making the perfect blend of small town and urban availability. San Marcos is governed by a mayor-council system of government, elected at large to four year terms. The yearly temperatures and rain fall are moderate.

Among the many notable features of the city is Twin Oaks Valley Golf Course, Lake San Marcos Executive Golf Course, and Lake San Marcos Country Club. The shopping in the area is plentiful which includes the popular North County Factory Outlet.  San Marcos is also well known for California State University San Marcos, Palomar College and Coleman College. The growth of Cal State San Marcos has led to area growth and an increasingly robust economy in every sector.

It is also known for having the best restaurants in North County. The ethnic diversity is best reflected in the wide range of cuisine that can be found along Old California Restaurant Row.
